Fire element
From Astrology In Depth
The fire element reflects an energized construct, strongly based on lower elemental reactions. The more elemental reactions happen, the more active a fire individual will be. The signs of Aries, Leo and Sagittarius are formulated out of this element.
This element distinguishes itself in its great warmth, and its ability to provide light in darker situations. Its warmth and light can be very supportive of life, but when out of control can become quite destructive. The inner light of this element can make fire individuals apprear quite self-reliant, confident, self-assured and even dogmatic. It also makes it self-expressive and highly enthusiastic. Its glowing nature can be quite hypnotizing.
It is the more powerful element, and when used more prudently its combustive nature can be harnessed to move mountains. It is strongly reactive, and can be set on rather easily, but when too intensive, the "burning" can be difficult to extinguish or brought under control. It has more of a difficulty resisting its base elements.
The fire element can be quite contagious. One fire person is most set-up to light up another fire person. It is also very natural - fire individuals are the least inclined to complicate themselves with excessive thought or calculation. Responses are mostly instinctual and immediate. They come as they are, and do not usually question themselves too much, perhaps unless particularly Neptunian
.
Fire-ruled individuals tend to put great value in positivity and warmth. On the other hand, coldness can really incense them.
The fire element tends to be less tactful than the other elements, and less able on its own to decipher non-fiery attitudes.

The water element is the element most depressive of the fire element. It has a tendency to extinguish the lowly chemical reactions that fire individuals thrive on. The water element is most suited to soothe fiery anger by its dynamic and considerate nature. That said, a stronger or more persistent fire, or a more pressurized water induividual can make for extreme steam, making water persons lighter and more excited than normal, but perhaps more set-up for a future, heavy downpour as things chill.
> edit this In comparison to the earth element
As of itself, the earth element is usually too fixed and passive to set a fire individual on. Although it's dark qualities can clash with the fiery qualities, the stable and rational nature of earth can reground this intra-elemental relationship. The earth side tends to be energized by the fiery side, although can sometimes feel exhausted by growing energetical demands by the fiery side.
