The first house, house of dominance and self-assertion.
It is the natural house of the sign of Aries and of planet Mars.

People with prominent 1st house locations can be quite dominant, especially in the areas of the rising sign, and the sign in which those elements appear. They tend to seek full expression of the qualities of their sign, and it will be a great determinant of the focus here.

There's some tendency for superficiality in this house. There's usually a selfish element to this house, although with some signs this may be less apparent.

Any transpersonal planet in this house will have a considerable impact upon the life path of the native, so the examination of this house is important when analysing a chart.
