edit this In the personality
Sagittarius is the more buoyant, peppy sign. It is quite curious, adventurous and enterprising. It can sometimes be a little restless, perhaps impatient. Personal freedom is quite important in this sign, and these natives do not appreciate suffocating or oppressive situations. There's often a great love of travel. Being rather confident in itself, in a difficult chart it can become quite patronizing, conceited, strongly opinionated or dogmatic.
It is mostly a learned sign, focussed and zealous in whatever piques its curiosity. It tends to be visionary and far-sighted, able to go to great lengths and make things happen, if it really wants to. These natives can be quite bold. It tends to be a humorous sign, sometimes somewhat childish in demeanor. Sagittarians are social creatures by nature, but a more reserved focus in the chart can have some exception to this.
There's a philosophical inclination in this sign, and often a basic positive and rather optimistic character. A sense of fair play is usually prominent here, and with serious Saturn
influences it often seeks to find its vocation in judicial affairs.
Unlike other signs, notably the earth ones, Sagittarius usually does not require a lot to feel good with himself. It can nevertheless get distressed by unusual adversity. Even if all is good, it does like to dream and push himself to something bigger. It still needs a well-focussed chart to truly push this to some bigger, successful conclusion.
This sign is usually well disposed to culture and religion. A more rebellious influence on Mercury may change that. There is often a conflict in this sign between personal freedom and spiritual convictions. The one that will prevail usually depends on other indications in the chart. By nature, a middle ground is often sought. A spiritual Sagittarius inclination is more in line with traditional, often religious expressions. In its more extreme expressions, it can be a "party animal", especially in strongly Uranus
influenced individuals, or it may be religiously pious and preaching, especially under more pervasive Saturn
influences. Some may transmute between these extremes, especially under more maleable, strong Neptune
influences.

edit this Holism
Sagittarius likes to look at the big, all-encompassing picture. It is philosophical, and like to understand things from the core up. It is not interested in bits of information which do not complement some larger idea. This is the basis for this sign being the number one skeptical sign in the zodiac as it relates to things where it is difficult to understand where exactly they come from, or what are the underlying, perceivable principles. A popular exception to this is a Sun-Neptune
conjunction, which often makes the person more integrated into mystical convictions, although house location should be considered as well. A Sun-Uranus
conjunction can also make the person embrace a more radical, often permissive worldview.

edit this with Gemini
There is a naturally high-strung 180 degree angle between these signs.
Unlike Gemini, Sagittarius is more focussed and enterprising. Sagittarius can have a hard time with the cool, more calculated demeanor of Gemini. There can be clashes on the basis of faith, of which Gemini usually would have none of, especially if it is to curb their (sometimes mischievous) style.

edit this with Aries
These signs share the fire element, and so are able to relate.
These signs often attract on the basis of strong passion between them. These are pretty strong signs and so are able to weather each other. Although there are often many disagreements between them, as both are quite opinionated, there are nevertheless some similarities in their value systems. They also able to get over arguments without bad blood. They tend to share a similar energy level and pace, and their association tends to be rather exciting. There's usually much humor in this association.
Aries tends to be more dominant in the decisionmaking process, as it is more assertive and stubborn. Aries is usually able to keep Sagittarius interested, and so less inclined to drift away.
edit this with Aquarius
Although these signs may have many similarities on its surface, Aquarius is much less conventional than Sagittarius, and tends to have a controversial twist to it, which can be a bit uneasy for Sagittarius. Aquarius has more of an edge, but is usually less focussed and ambitious.
