Pisces is the more perplexed, empathic and otherworldly sign within the zodiac. The ruler of this sign is Neptune, although the traditional ruler was Jupiter. Its natural house is the 12th house.

Pisces is a sign of perplexed emotions, and tends to be meditative and rather hushed and secretive. It reflects somewhat of a bland, remote personality which tends to be rather going with the flow, although Uranus and Leo influences can alleviate these to some degree. It may be somewhat slippery and difficult to catch in a word. It is usually somewhat impractical and spacey and may be rather tendentious, unless Mercury is strong or Saturn is prominent.

It has some built-in ambivalence, in that it is split between wanting to go with the flow and please others, and a certain rebellious underside of the personality. It mostly acts on its more rebellious side when it is encouraged, or a laissez-faire attitude has set-in in a given situation and his fears have been eroded enough. Uranus influences also strengthen the rebellious side and make it more intensive.

On the face of it, it can be an extremely empathic and compassionate sign, however it should be noted that in a more negative chart it can still come to act in a heartless fashion. It can also be carried into such a situation by its environment or negative social circumstance. It is important to examine the Moon as it can do much to counteract this. Strong Neptune influences also amplify the empathic side.

It usually has a strong spiritual side, although strong Mars influences can diminish from this a bit. It has a great liking for mysteries, however with more conceited Mercury conditions may nevertheless be strongly skeptical about mystical phenomena. Such Mercury situations often have the individual attracted to the more scientific fields.

This sign has a certain melancholic element to it, which makes it need contact with other people, although harsh charts may repel such contact. It wants to do exciting things, but unless the chart is particularly strong, it lacks the motivation to actually go ahead with it. As a result of this, it may seek motivational relationships to compensate on it.

There is often much charm, a "magical" element in the personality, although harsh charts can do much to diminish this. This sign's more empathic, gentle nature often attracts other people's empathy and affections, and so tends to be quite attractive to other people. This sign usually has a certain childish element in it.

This sign tends to refine the senses, and makes one more emotionally responsive to music and the arts. Unless Saturn strongly influences the sun, Pisces can have a bit of a childish or immature twist to it.

It is perhaps the most dynamic sign in the zodiac, and thus the most intricate to delineate. Pisces tends to be influenced by its surroundings, and may change fundamental qualities by the crowd it is with. The Moon should be examined for more solid influences in the personality.

This sign is sensitive to undercurrents in many situations, and may have feelings or inclinations which are difficult to explain. It is emotionally impressionable, and can be influenced by "vibes" in its surrounding. In a strong chart it can be even more intricately aware of these, sometimes even using it to its advantage. Strong Mars influences can even make it manipulative and hypocritical.

The basic Pisces personality structure can lack self-confidence, reflecting a certain fainthearted character which it may attempt to hide behind a strongman's façade. This is as naturally, Pisces having an emotional makeup, has some built-in weaknesses in its character. On the other hand, influence by Uranus can do much to help by adding some boldness and audacity to the character. Also a conjunction with Mars with it being in an adjascent sign can contraindicate some of this. Strong Aries influences can also help bring some balance there, especially a strong Aries Moon.

Pisces natives tend to be strongly influenced by emotions, which they often have a difficult time putting a check on. There is often sentimental connotations to the things they do. They usually find it more important to be true to what they feel rather than making other kinds of calculations.

This sign tends to have a romantic bone in its body, although a harsh Venus situation can do much to counteract this.

There is usually much value put on self-transcendence, although their actual, active embrace of it much depends on the rest of the chart, particularly the sign of the Moon and its aspects. More rough Mars Pisceans may demand it from others, while wiggling out of it themselves using all sorts of funky excuses.

Basic idea - self-transcendence

There's a naturally stressful 180 degree angle between these signs.

Unlike Virgo, Pisces is much less practical, orderly and calculated. It is rather transcending of the simplicities of daily life, which it seeks to escape. It does find common grounds with Virgo in that both are usually quite willing to help other people, and Pisces magical and mysterious ways tend to be quite attractive to Virgo.

Pisces tends to be strongly attracted to this sign, as it is charged by Leo's enthusiasm and playful side. It also finds Leo's confident nature a refreshing change from its own indecisiveness. Leo likes to feel so appreciated by Pisces, which tends to put Leo up on a pedestal. It is possible for Pisces to eventually grow sick of some of Leo's self-centered attitudes and less considerate nature.

Although these signs share a more refined nature and great sensory appreciation, this association is somewhat problematic in that both signs are rather reserved, and both have an underlying melancholic element which will probably not mix well. Neither brings lasting excitement to this relationship, and so it may lack substantial cohesiveness and may ultimately fade away. Taurus tends to belittle Pisces' impractical and overly emotional ways, and Pisces may feel misunderstood by Taurus.
